Teapot
This silver teapot was designed by Gustave Odiot, the last member of the Odiot family of to take over the Odiot company. The Odiot Company had successfully produced fine silverware over two centuries and received one of the largest commissions ever placed, to produce 3,000 pieces of solid gold flatware for Saʿīd Pacha, the Viceroy of Egypt. During Gustav’s tenure at the company, he was appointed the purveyor to the Court of His Imperial Majesty the Tsar. During his appointment, he directed the company to produce this silver teapot which demonstrates the workshop’s unrivalled artistic mastery.
